What is getqrtools.com?
getqrtools.com is a free, privacy-focused platform for creating and customizing QR codes. All our tools work entirely in your browser, meaning your data never leaves your device.
Is it really free?
Yes! All our core tools are completely free with no hidden fees, account requirements, or usage limits. We believe everyone should have access to quality QR code generation.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required to use any of our tools. You can generate and download QR codes immediately without signing up.
What types of QR codes can I create?
We support URL QR codes, WiFi network sharing, QR codes with custom logos, and more. We're constantly adding new tools based on user feedback.
Privacy & Security
Is my data safe?
Absolutely. All QR code generation happens locally in your browser. We never see, store, or process the data you enter into our tools.
Do you use cookies or tracking?
No. We don't use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising. Any cookies that may be set are essential for website functionality only.
Can you see what I'm creating?
No. Since everything happens in your browser, we have no way of accessing or viewing the QR codes you generate.
Are the QR codes stored on your servers?
No. QR codes are generated and downloaded directly to your device. We don't have servers that store user-generated content.
Using Our Tools
How do I generate a QR code?
Simply select the tool you need, enter your data (URL, text, WiFi credentials, etc.), customize the design if desired, and click 'Generate'. Then download your QR code.
What file formats are available?
You can download QR codes as PNG (for web use), SVG (vector format for printing), or PDF (for professional documents).
Can I customize the colors and design?
Yes! Most of our tools allow you to customize colors, add logos, adjust error correction, and choose different QR code styles.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The QR codes you generate are static and will work forever as long as the destination (URL, etc.) remains accessible.
Technical Questions
What is error correction in QR codes?
Error correction allows QR codes to still be scanned even if partially damaged or obscured. Higher error correction means more durability but creates a denser QR code.
What's the maximum data a QR code can hold?
It depends on the QR code version and error correction level. Standard QR codes can hold up to 3KB of data, which is sufficient for URLs, contact info, and most common uses.
Can QR codes be too small to scan?
Yes. QR codes need to be large enough for scanners to read them. We recommend at least 2x2 cm (0.8x0.8 inches) for print and 200x200 pixels for digital use.
Do QR codes work with all scanners?
Yes. Our QR codes follow international standards and work with any QR code scanner app or built-in camera scanner on modern smartphones.
Business & Commercial Use
Can I use your tools for commercial purposes?
Yes! You can use the QR codes generated by our tools for commercial projects, marketing materials, products, and business purposes.
Do I need to credit getqrtools.com?
No attribution is required, though we always appreciate it when users mention our service.
Can I generate QR codes in bulk?
We're working on bulk generation tools. For now, you can generate QR codes one at a time. Contact us if you have specific bulk needs.
Do you offer API access?
Not currently, but we're considering API options for developers and businesses. Contact our partnerships team if you're interested.
Troubleshooting
My QR code isn't scanning. What's wrong?
Common issues include: the QR code is too small, there's insufficient contrast, the surface is reflective, or there's damage to the code. Try increasing size or contrast.
The download isn't working. What should I do?
Try using a different browser, check your download folder permissions, or ensure you don't have pop-up blockers preventing downloads.
The tool seems slow. Is there an issue?
Our tools work entirely in your browser, so performance depends on your device. Complex designs or very large data may take longer to generate.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Please contact us through our contact form with details about the issue, including your browser, device, and steps to reproduce the problem.
